Andrew Muirhead started racing at the East Suburban Club in 1974, in 1976 he become Secretary. He also won the club points that year. In 1977 he moved to the Hampstead Club until 2004 when they amalgamated with Nth Suburban. In this period he was Chairperson for 2 years and points winner on three occasions. At Nth Suburban he has been head of the hampering table for nearly 10 years and continues to give great service. Andrew is a winner of 10 Assoc races and 4 times winner of the Assoc points. He was an Association Trustee for 16 years and a Trustees rep on the Association 5 Man committee for 6 years. We are proud to announce at the 2014 Association AGM Andrew Muirhead was made a life member of the Association. Congratulations Andrew from all of us.
Leo Duits started racing in 1965 with the Hampstead Club. Late November 1965 he founded the Vitesse Club, they met in his garage for three years until he helped build the current Vitesse Club rooms. Leo was Secretary/Treasurer for 9 yrs. and the Delegate for the Club. He is a Life Member of Vitesse. He then moved back to Hampstead and became Clock Chairman for 6 yrs and Chairman for 2 yrs. When Hampstead amalgamated with Nth Suburban he was Chairman and Clock Chairman for 2 yrs. Then Treasurer for 5yrs, he continues to be on the Clock Committee and a member of the 5 man Committee.
He spent 6yrs on the Association 5 man Committee. Leo is held in high regard amongst his fellow flyers and is a true gentleman of the sport. We are honoured to have Leo in our Club. He is now a Life Member of North Suburban.
